This piece is about hair within the context of cultural notions of self display, identity, ethnic awareness and beauty.

Using coffee time "Cafecito" as the conversational metaphor I aim to establish and maintain a dialogue about: internalized racism so deeply rooted in the minds of descendants from colonized islands like my homeland The Dominican Republic. I believe that racism is stimulated by fear and the obsession with power. Hair is an element that tells so much about a personal dilemma, relevant today when it comes to understanding and embracing the nature of who we are and where we decent from.
